We are currently working through our genetics unit, and the DNA model has already been put to great use. I've used it to show students how genes are represented, how the structure of DNA coils, and how its different components fit together. Having a real model to hold and examine has helped make these challenging ideas concrete and easier to understand.\r\n\r\nThe solar system and Earth–Sun models have also been the perfect complement to our spiral review lessons. When students were recently asked to draw a model of an eclipse, I was able to demonstrate exactly how it happens using the planetarium model. Being able to physically see the relationship between the Earth, Sun, and Moon made a huge difference in their comprehension. It's been amazing to see their eyes light up as these complex concepts click into place.\r\n\r\nMy students are so excited about these resources—they keep asking when we can use them again! The models have quickly become a favorite part of our classroom, not just for learning, but for how they make the room feel. Each Monday, I print and prepare the week's review for my students, and every day they come in and get right to work answering that day's questions. By Friday, they turn in their completed review. Each day focuses on a different skill, and the questions gradually increase in complexity—encouraging students to take more ownership of their learning over time.
