As a young teacher in an underfunded school, I often need to pay for materials myself or get creative in the types of materials I use for my projects. The donation of these STEM kits and supplies have been an absolute gift the last few months. With cold and flu season coming and going, the sanitzing wipes have kept us healthly. The Bridge Builders kits and the Picasso tiles have been used by students in Kindergarten through fourth grade in their building lessons as stations. They have been loving their time working with these kits. \r\n\r\nThe Chomp Saw was something I have wanted in my classroom for years but could never afford. This tool helped my 8th graders in the construction of their Rube Goldburg Marble Run projects. I also used it for our middle school drama club's production, which I also direct. We used it to cut out props used by the actors. With the addition of fidget balls, calming strips, and a box of fidgets, we have been able to better support students' focus and self-regulation throughout the school day. These tools are now part of our daily routines, especially during independent work and small-group instruction. One moment that stood out was watching a student who typically struggles to stay on task use a fidget quietly and remain engaged for an entire lesson. It was a powerful reminder of how the right supports can help students feel successful and confident.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their reactions were full of excitement and curiosity. They were eager to try the different fidgets and quickly began exploring which tools worked best for them. The calming strips, in particular, have become a favorite—students use them discreetly at their desks to stay focused and calm. It has been wonderful to see how these simple resources have created a more comfortable and productive learning environment for so many learners.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these materials will continue to support students as they build independence and develop strategies for managing their focus and emotions. Our next steps include helping students reflect on which tools work best for them and encouraging them to take ownership of their learning habits. Your support has truly made a difference for many students across several classes, and we are incredibly grateful for the positive impact you've had on our school community.\r\n\r\nWith sincere gratitude,\r\nJennifer Buletza","fullyFundedDate":1769299743573,"projectUrl":"project/student-support-items/10052129/","projectTitle":"Student Support Items","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Buletza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10416015"},{"teacherId":10417509,"projectId":10056292,"letterContent":"\"Imagine and Create,\" our Kindergarten project, put a smile on the faces of my students and me. The children and I got so excited each time a gift arrived at our classroom door. \r\n \r\n It was a long, cold winter in PA, so we spent most of our recess-time indoors. The students actually looked forward to being inside, because they loved creating with the Lego kit and magnetic tiles. They really used their imaginations, and they were so proud to show me their creations. \r\n\r\n The large moveable whiteboard was also a big hit with the students. It was so popular that we had to set up a schedule because everyone wanted a turn to draw pictures, write stories and play games with their friends on the board. I was also excited to use the whiteboard during our Circle Time and writing activities. The board makes it so much easier for the children who sit in the back of Circle Time and Phonics lessons to see what I'm presenting during our lessons. \r\n\r\n Our Monster Alphabet Carpet not only adds warmth and a colorful touch to our classroom, we also use it to review our letters and to play our phonics games. The rug helps to make learning fun. \r\n\r\n The children all cheered when our awesome snow-cone machine was brought to our room. We are so excited that we will also be able to share snow-cones with our Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade friends during our End-of-Year Fun Day Festivities in May. We are really looking forward to using our machine for the first time next week during a special Kindergarten Reward. The whiteboards and graphing materials, in particular, have allowed for more interactive and hands-on learning experiences that bring math to life in new ways.\r\n\r\nI also want to highlight how valuable the snacks have been for our classroom.
