What seemed like a simple gift quickly became a symbol of their hard work, resilience, and accomplishments.\r\n\r\nMany of my students have faced significant challenges this year, yet they persevered and made tremendous progress. Watching them smile as they received a gift recognizing their success was a powerful moment. They felt seen, celebrated, and proud of everything they had accomplished. They each got a pack of colored pencils, gummies, and a fun eraser animal. The students were overjoyed with their gifts and couldn't stop thanking me. The best part was that you (the donors) had given them little cards and envelopes and I managed to slip in there a \"NO HOMEWORK\" pass. We have been able to determine that some students had skills and language related to the kitchen and functional skills like snapping pieces together and attaching/detaching magnets. They emulate caregivers making meals, washing dishes, and cleaning. Without these play items, we would never have a glimpse into what they already know!\r\n\r\nThese items we received have proven invaluable.
