The highlighters, in particular, have become essential in our note-taking routines and in tackling open-ended response questions—helping students better understand and retain what they've learned.\r\n\r\nYour donation also provided much-needed classroom basics like folders and erasers—items that might seem small but make a big difference in a student's day. Having extra folders on hand means that no student has to fall behind because of a lost or damaged one. And as I often remind them, \"Mistakes in math help us grow\"—so our steady supply of top erasers is always in high demand!\r\n\r\nThe laminating punches will be used soon to create a vibrant and durable 6th-grade math word wall—a project I plan to have completed when I return from maternity leave in February. I'm so excited for this display to support visual learning and reinforce key concepts throughout the year.\r\n\r\nThe pencil pouches have already proven incredibly useful for organizing classroom materials. The STEAM purchases created bins that in turn, provide daily opportunities for the students to use their imagination in creating cool objects and use those objects in pretend play. \r\n\r\nI believe students learn best when they can have hands-on experiences. They love building with the connecting gears! They have designed cool cars and other items that they used during play. They actually try to keep them together for several days of play. Once those are put away, they move on to the magnetic blocks that give them another element of experience. These magnetic shapes can be used during math as well in order to create 3D shapes. \r\n\r\nFinally, the card stock paper has already made a huge impact on our students. They are currently using them to cut out scarecrows that will be added to their stories that they create.
