My students are looking for books that grab their interest, and have the ability to relate. They come from diverse backgrounds each with their own unique experiences, strengths, and ideas that they bring to our classroom. With this being said, they want to see this diversity in the literature that they are reading. By incorporating these differences in their literature, this will enrich learning in our classroom. This project will reach all 5th grade students in our school. My school has one-on-one iPads for each student, regardless of this, the majority of them prefer the smell, touch and the reliability that a hand held book provides.
