When my students first saw the new books, bookshelf, and reward spin wheel, their excitement was contagious—they immediately began exploring the novels and couldn't stop talking about which ones they wanted to read first. They were excited and impressed that the novels were up to date and something they were actually interested in. The bookshelf transformed our classroom space, giving the books a real \"home\" and making the room feel more welcoming and complete. We've been using the spin wheel to celebrate milestones, from finishing a novel to participating in game-based learning activities, and it has quickly become a favorite motivator for my students. These resources have already made such a difference: students who were hesitant readers are now eager to dive into stories they actually find interesting. This project has given me the ability to create a more engaging, student-centered environment where reading feels rewarding rather than like a chore. For our current unit, students are applying their reading skills to group projects, and I'm confident that the enthusiasm sparked by these new materials will carry them through. Thanks to your generosity, my students are learning that their interests and growth matter, and I am able to teach with tools that make reading and learning more joyful and impactful.","fullyFundedDate":1746785315198,"projectUrl":"project/read-spin-repeat-building-a-library-t/9305409/","projectTitle":"Read, Spin, Repeat: Building a Library They Love","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Morris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9454455_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717515638139","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9454455"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_88930","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":4899,"numTeachers":168,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":87,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"29.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":62.0,"schoolId":88930,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Reading High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Reading High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/reading-school-district/reading-high-school/88930"}
