The participants were able to complete a story walk using the book \"Scribble Stones\" by Diane Alber. When they reached the turn around point of our journey, families were able to design kindness rocks that they then left on the trail while returning to the starting point. They did all of this while exercising and spending time with family.\r\n\r\nWe had over 60 families participate and about a dozen staff members as well as two of our principals joined in the evening's fun.\r\n\r\nWe completed this project with several of the Leader in Me habits in mind, but \"Sharpen the Saw\" was at the forefront. Knowing that we need to take care of ourselves needs to be in our minds all of the time. Sometimes this takes the form of exercise and spending time with those we love. Unfortunately, due to weather, we had to reschedule the event, but were still able to do so in the month of February.\r\n\r\nThe materials we received helped to make this an evening that the students and their parents will not soon forget. We had the event for students in grades K-3. The activities were differentiated so that they were applicable to all students. The families signed in and then roamed the event area to participate in the activities that were calling to them as a family.\r\n\r\nThe families were very impressed with what the event consisted of. Many asked for another similar evening before the end of the year and several families asked for a similar event for students in grades 4-6.
