From fruit snacks to chips and more, each item is being used in ways that truly make a difference. My students were excited the moment they saw the Halloween snack bowl (it was around Halloween at the time of the photos) and boxes of snacks. A few even asked if they could help organize them or earn something that day. One student told me, \"Now I don't have to be hungry until lunch anymore,\" and another said, \"This makes school feel more like home.\"\r\n\r\nWe've already started using the snacks as part of our PBIS system. Cadets can earn a treat by demonstrating leadership, kindness, or responsibility during class. Others quietly grab a cereal bar before a quiz or after a rough morning, helping them stay focused and feel supported. The simple act of offering a snack has strengthened relationships, encouraged effort, and created a calm, caring classroom culture.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the semester, I plan to tie these incentives into larger goal-setting and academic efforts. Students are preparing for their next round of assessments and projects, and these small rewards help keep them energized and motivated.
