Your generosity helps us create a welcoming, supportive environment where every child has access to materials that encourage emotional growth, confidence, positive relationships, and academic success.\r\n\r\nThe materials you have provided will be used directly with our students during individual counseling, small-group activities, classroom SEL lessons, and other school-wide initiatives. These resources allow students to practice important skills such as identifying and expressing their emotions, developing healthy coping strategies, building self-esteem, resolving conflicts, strengthening friendships, and learning how to advocate for themselves and others.\r\n\r\nYour support means more than simply providing supplies. It helps our students feel valued, cared for, and supported by a community that believes in their potential. Every donated item provides another opportunity for a student to learn, grow, and feel connected to their school.\r\n\r\nWe are especially grateful to have community members and organizations who recognize that supporting a child's social and emotional well-being is an important part of helping them succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping us continue to build a school community rooted in compassion, belonging, resilience, and growth. Your kindness will have a meaningful impact on our students throughout the school year, and we sincerely appreciate your partnership in supporting our SEL program.","fullyFundedDate":1778543409281,"projectUrl":"project/fidget-focus-feel-better/10157136/","projectTitle":"Fidget, Focus, Feel Better!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thomas-EL","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9708334_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1787258913167","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/missmacawi"},{"teacherId":10241193,"projectId":9681041,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donation. It means the world to not only myself but most importantly to our students. When my students first saw the ukulele's they were so confused and curious about what sound it makes and how to play. I would say classroom engagement increased tenfold because of being physically involved in the music making. \r\n\r\nStudents have been so excited to learn about the ukulele and its history. We have begun learning about the different parts of the ukulele and its history from Hawai'i. The few chords the students have learned are the simplest to help with quick ease and then singing songs that go along with the chord they learn. Then we simply add on new chords. Within the half school year students have learned the basic 4 chords using a simple I-IV-V-1 chord (theory comes hand to hand in this section)\r\n\r\nNext steps with ukulele unit is to begin a song composition project where students use the chords they have learned (or additional chords) to create songs. Using the mix of songs they have learned and tweak words around to match their new songs. Students are extremely grateful for this opportunity to learn the ukulele and participate musically in the classroom.
