These materials arrived so close to the beginning of the school year that I was able to introduce them in our school expectations. The students thrived using the golf pencils at the beginning of the year. As a result of starting with these small pencils, the students were able to develop their pincer grasp and are now benefitting from the traditional size pencils the the pencil grips. The voice recording buttons give students support in their small group instruction period which allows them to work independently. The books within this project gave my student the reassurance that this community is their and their positive mindset has created a collaborative classroom that they all fell welcome in. \r\n My students use the headphones daily when using their chromebooks for their individualized interventions. Many students do not have headphone that suit their little ears or were unable to supply some from home, but with your donation, that did not stop them from receiving interventions that are meeting them at their level and helping them to grow significantly!\r\n Students will continue to benefit from these supplies as they have created a classroom community that is excited to learn and encourages them to collaborate with their peers. Our first book was MexiKid which was slightly above the class' collective reading level; however, the memoir was so gripping that the students enjoyed the journey. We had weekly book clubs in which the students described what they liked and what they did not understand. When we finished MexiKid, I surprised the students with birria tacos (just like the book, except we have beef instead of venison). I wish the donors could hear the students describe the pride they felt in completing this book. \r\n\r\nWe have since moved on to Keena Ford, and the class is equally engaged.
