Emlen Elementary is a school filled with pride, joy, and love. Each day, you can find students dancing down the halls, singing with their teachers, and laughing with their friends. Walking the halls, you'd never realize the innumerable challenges these children face. Many of the students come from situations with which adults would have difficulty coping. Yet, all of my students arrive each morning with a smile on their face. As a special education teacher, my students face unique learning difficulties in addition to challenges presented in their personal lives. Our class ranges in ages from 4 years old to 9 years old. Each child has individual strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Differentiation occurs on every level of instruction in order to best support these students in reaching their goals.
