My students absolutely loved being able to sit on the cushions as they participated in morning meeting. They also loved to sit down and regulate with the weighted book in the calm down corner, being able to flip through the pages was something the students were excited to try. For my students who needed to rock to self soothe and meet their sensory goals, the rocking chair worked perfectly! The students ADORED being able to rock without hitting their head on anything and be able to safely meet their needs. When we first started receiving the materials the students were so excited to be involved in opening all of the boxes and seeing what they'd be able to use. The paint ball rollers to make patterns were a huge win as soon as they came out. The students loved to use them each day to make a new project. The addition of the paint jackets allowed for the students to do multiple arts and crafts projects without making a mess of their clothes and are super easy for the students to put on by themselves. By far the biggest hit has been the marble tower set. No matter the therapy session, my students will work hard just to have a chance to play with it. Plus it makes for a great tool to use with emergent communicators with their AAC devices. Lots of a great core words can be modeled as we build structures together. \r\n\r\nThe arts and crafts supplies have also been nice as a way to break up articulation drill work with something relaxing. More varied activities the better as many of my students are now in the stages of self-monitoring their articulation targets. And speaking of articulation, the mirror has been a mainstay in so many of my sessions. It's durable and allows my students to monitor their articulators as they practice their sounds. \r\n\r\nFinally, having a file storage and vacuum have been necessities as I organize my room. My space has become a place that many students seek out during their breaks in the day to hang out in or to come visit me. I feel truly blessed to have reached this point in my career. I am now able to better my craft by creating durable, reusable resources that cater to different learning styles. For example, using the dry-erase markers with laminated activity sheets allows students to practice foundational literacy and math skills repeatedly, building confidence through low-stakes exploration and instant feedback.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments recently occurred during a small-group rotation. A student who typically feels hesitant to share his work was using the new chisel-tip markers to illustrate a story on a laminated board.
