Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in my students' learning experiences by providing them with the opportunity to participate in an immersive virtual field trip to the Edgar Allan Poe Museum. As an English teacher, I am always looking for creative ways to bring literature to life and help students connect with the authors, ideas, and historical contexts we explore in class. Your generosity will help transform learning from something students simply read about in a textbook into an experience they can actively engage with, explore, and remember. I am incredibly grateful that you chose to support this project and invest in my students' education.\r\n\r\nThrough this virtual field trip, my students will have the opportunity to explore the life, works, and lasting legacy of Edgar Allan Poe in a way that goes beyond our traditional classroom discussions. Studying Poe's writing allows students to examine the development of Gothic literature, explore the use of suspense and symbolism, and consider how an author's experiences and historical context can influence his work. Being able to visit the Edgar Allan Poe Museum virtually will give students a more personal connection to the author and his literary contributions. Rather than simply reading biographical information or analyzing a story on the page, students will be able to experience a new environment, discover details that deepen their understanding, and engage with the material in a more interactive and memorable way. This experience will also encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful discussion as students make connections between Poe's life, his writing, and the literary techniques they are learning to recognize and analyze. For students who may find traditional lessons challenging or struggle to see the relevance of literature, an immersive experience like this can provide a fresh perspective and spark a genuine interest in learning.","fullyFundedDate":1790781642915,"projectUrl":"project/edgar-allan-poe-museum-virtual-field-tri/10669962/","projectTitle":"Edgar Allan Poe Museum Virtual Field Trip","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fako","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10682353"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91179","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1101,"numTeachers":75,"percentFrplEligible":23,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":82,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":25.0,"schoolId":91179,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Franklin Regional Senior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Franklin Regional Senior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/franklin-regional-school-district/franklin-regional-senior-high-school/91179"}
