In June, I had the incredible opportunity to spend two days learning alongside educators from across the country and being inspired by some of the best educators in the field. The experience was both energizing and transformative. Through engaging workshops, demonstrations and conversations, I gained practical strategies and ideas that I could bring directly back to my classroom and my school. As a PBIS House leader in my elementary school, I was especially excited to bring back what I learned to help us continue developing, growing and strengthening our PBIS House program. \r\n\r\nThis experience has helped me grow not only as a music teacher, but also as a PBIS leader. RCA challenged me to think beyond traditional teaching methods and consider new ways to make learning exciting, meaningful, and memorable. I returned to school this fall with renewed enthusiasm and a toolbox full of new strategies to increase student engagement, build stronger relationship, celebrate student success and create a positive school culture. In the first ten days of school, I've already started putting several of these ideas into practice and sharing what I learned with my colleagues and administrators, allowing the impact of this experience to reach beyond my own music classroom. \r\n\r\nMost importantly, the investment you've made is directly impacting my students. Our House program continues to grow into Year Two. Students are becoming more invested in making it their own. Students recently voted on House mascots to represent each House, giving them a voice in shaping their House identities. We are continuing to build our House chants this year to create excitement, unity and school spirit. We are also electing Student House Captains in 5th and 6th grades in the upcoming weeks. These experiences give students opportunities to to develop leadership, responsibility, teamwork and pride in their school community. I'm incredibly thankful to every donor who made this opportunity possible. For two days, I was surrounded by educators who were passionate about learning, growing, and making a difference in the lives of their students. I left RCA feeling inspired, energized, and reminded of just how powerful great teaching can be! The realistic figures and bright pictures immediately grabbed their attention and brought a new level of engagement to our lessons. These materials have made learning language more interactive and meaningful, especially for my students who benefit from hands-on activities.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the sets daily during small group instruction and speech sessions. They've helped my students make clearer connections between objects, words, and actions — and I've already noticed an increase in participation and confidence during language activities. The materials allow each child to practice communication skills at their own level, which is so important in our classroom.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue expanding vocabulary and begin using the verb cards to build short phrases and sentences. I am so grateful for your generosity and support.
