They were all so excited, they could barely contain themselves. Everyone wanted to have one of the fidgets. \r\n\r\nThe fidgets have helped them create calming strategies throughout our class periods, as well as responsibility. The students know the expectations for using the fidgets and follow all the rules to make sure that they are able to keep using them. They have become a great tool in our classroom both for our productivity and our mental health. \r\nThis helps us to put into practice some of our coping strategies for stress and anxiety that we discuss in our mental and emotional health units. Myself and my students are incredibly grateful for your thoughtfulness and generosity. My students are utilizing their new binders to keep themselves organized; one step closer academic success in biology class. They are using these binders to organize notes, vocabulary, labs, and assessments. Keeping organized allows for them to have easier access to learning the material and take pride in the work they're accomplishing. \r\n\r\nI require all students to maintain a binder for my class, to keep themselves organized. When I announced that I had binders available for all students, the look of relief that crossed some of their faces brought so much joy to my heart. The school I'm in has a very high population of students living in low socioeconomic situations. The small act of providing them with a binder, gives them some relief of having to ask their parents or guardian for that financial contribution or hassle of getting to a store to purchase a binder. \r\n\r\nI intend to continue this tradition of providing my students with a binder as I feel it has set a great tone and rapport with them for the school year.
