I even had other students in the school stop by my classroom to check out what was happening and ask to stay to play around and see what they could make. As we are still new to using the Chomp Saws and their templates, we have just scratched the surface of all the interesting and cool things and have a lot of growth yet to go. These tools are very safe and fun for students and extremely engaging. The other cardboard cutting tools are also well used and loved, especially by the students who prefer to work with quieter equipment. Having more of the tools and safer tools has positively impacted my students and classroom - more people can work at the same time and not argue over who gets to use the materials. More people can stay engaged and finish their projects and not get discouraged or off track and not finish later when we have enough tools for everyone to share.\r\n\r\nWe used these tools for a student-centered project where my high school scholars could choose to work as part of a team or solo. They also could choose whether to create a playable cardboard game or a sculpture. My classes had a lot of fun while learning skills that have applications to project planning and management, to building teamwork and community, to art, architecture and engineering. My favorite games were one with balloons and cups, and some of the variations on basketball. Some of the sculptures were really exciting, ranging from anime characters to the Temple University football stadium to popcorn to giant monster mask heads.\r\n\r\nThis semester is coming to a close at the end of next week, and then in late January I will have a brand new batch of students, in 3 different sections of my Craft Arts class, who will get to experiment and play with these tools and see what they can create. Approximately 100 or more students will be enrolled in these classes, so I can't wait to see what they come up with.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving us a chance and helping students try new things with new tools.","fullyFundedDate":1760720831183,"projectUrl":"project/building-steam-dreams-funding-cardboard/9719373/","projectTitle":"Building Steam Dreams: Funding Cardboard Sculpture and Designs","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gdowik","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10255661"},{"teacherId":2249208,"projectId":9150231,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous contribution to our DonorsChoose project.
