The students were so excited when we opened the boxes and put our books onto the new shelves. \r\n\r\nBefore we got the shelves, our graphic history book collection and ESL reader library books had no home and often ended up in a messy piles on the counter. That made it hard for students to sift through them to find a book to read. With the new display book shelves, the books covers are facing outwards and the students can easily see the titles. This had led to a renewed interest in reading them. Our newcomer students have been making their way through the ESL reader library and each time they finish a book proudly come over to show me the book and then eagerly go to the shelf to select the next book. \r\n\r\nThe alphabet tiles have been so helpful for the students who are learning to read English for the first time. It's a nice change for them to get to move letters around when they are spelling new words instead of always writing them out. It keeps things interesting. \r\n\r\nI am really grateful to you for your donation; it has brought new life to two important sections of my classroom library and helped students along their path to literacy.","fullyFundedDate":1756552321045,"projectUrl":"project/for-the-love-of-reading/9451198/","projectTitle":"For the Love of Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blanchard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6381101"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_87992","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":455,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":75,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":77.6,"schoolId":87992,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lincoln Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lincoln Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/south-lane-sch-district-45j3/lincoln-middle-school/87992"}
