I cannot thank you enough for taking part in this project and helping ease student stress while completing this mandatory assessment. \r\n\r\n\r\nThey absolutely loved all of the snacks! Some of the students were excited to try the Nila Wafers as many had never had them before! The fruit snacks were definitely the favorite, though. The very first moment they walked in and saw the cozy lamp and new reading areas, several students immediately whispered, \"It feels like a real reading room now!\" We used the books right away during our morning meeting discussions, and the reading spots have quickly become a favorite choice during independent reading. One of my students, who usually has trouble settling in, curled up in a spot with a new SEL book and told me, \"This just helps me calm down.\"\r\n\r\nThese resources have already made a meaningful impact on our daily routines. The social–emotional books have sparked thoughtful conversations about friendships, confidence, and managing big feelings. The organized bins have made transitions smoother and helped students take more responsibility for their materials. And the lamp has transformed our reading block into a calm, inviting space where students genuinely look forward to diving into books.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to build on this momentum by using the SEL books for weekly reflection journals and small-group discussions. Students will also be rotating through the new reading spots as we work on stamina and deeper comprehension skills. Thanks to your generosity, my students now have a warm, welcoming environment where they feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. We are truly grateful for the difference you've made in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1759163525930,"projectUrl":"project/little-readers-big-comforts/9573374/","projectTitle":"Little Readers, Big Comforts!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Weaver","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10168201_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754881879236","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10168201"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_88156","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":332,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":65,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 3","studentTeacherRatio":"15.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.8,"schoolId":88156,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Stayton Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Stayton Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/north-santiam-school-dist-29j/stayton-elementary-school/88156"}
