When the boxes first arrived, my students couldn't contain their excitement. \"Can we read them now?\" and \"Can we read them yet?\" filled the room. I haven't seen this level of enthusiasm for reading all year, and it's been so special to witness.\r\n\r\nThe new books, especially the series we're reading together, have truly sparked a love of reading in my students. They look forward to this time every day and are eager to dive into the stories, connect with the characters, and imagine new worlds.\r\n\r\nWe've been working on a class book study of The City of Ember, and my students have loved exploring the characters and the challenges they face. Because the characters are close in age to them, they can make meaningful connections and see parts of themselves in the story, which has made the experience even more impactful.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has brought so much joy, curiosity, and excitement into our classroom. It's incredibly meaningful to see students who are genuinely excited to pick up a book each day. Thank you for helping create these moments and for encouraging a love of reading that will stay with them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1768804465978,"projectUrl":"project/fictional-fantasies-make-reading-fanatic/10017834/","projectTitle":"Fictional Fantasies Make Reading Fanatics!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Katie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8938558_orig.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768267440977","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8938558"},{"teacherId":129583,"projectId":9585785,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generous contributions to my class. The materials included in this project have given my students meaningful opportunities to engage in their learning in playful and creative ways. One of our favorite activities has been making popsicle stick people. Students drew characters on popsicle sticks to represent the main characters from the stories we've read and then used them to retell the stories.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the puppets purchased through this project have helped make our stories truly \"come alive.\" While studying Waiting for the Biblioburro and The Library Lady, students used the puppets to represent Ana (the main character in Waiting for the Biblioburro) and to have her \"meet\" Tomás (the main character from The Library Lady). Through this imaginative play, the characters \"talked\" about the connections they share as well as the differences in their lives. The puppets brought the stories to life and kept students highly engaged.\r\n\r\nWe are excited to continue using these materials to add even more learning through play throughout the year!","fullyFundedDate":1757173497666,"projectUrl":"project/growing-imaginations-growing-readers-p/9585785/","projectTitle":"Growing Imaginations, Growing Readers: Play-Based Learning in First Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Powell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp129583_orig.jpg?crop=1048,1048,x1128,y836&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755103683027","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/129583"},{"teacherId":7878358,"projectId":9812045,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donation to my classroom.
