My students were \"wowed\" by the direct connection to the content we were covering in our STEM class! The magazine article focused on how a crossbreed between a Labrador and a Burnese mountain dog created a wonderful set of traits for a guide dog who might help someone with a visual impairment. We used the lesson extension components in the magazine subscription to figure out which dog breed is best for different jobs (e.g., sled dogs, therapy dogs, and even rhino conservation dogs). My students were fully engaged - asking questions, making connections, and excited to take their work home to continue conversations with their family. One of my students who wants to become a ski patroller was excited to think about which dog breeds would have the right traits to help with search and rescue missions! Thank you so much for extending our STEM lessons with this special gift.
