I am requesting six Hokki stools. Hokki stools will allow my students to sit and be active at the same time. These stools are unique as they transform stationary sitting into an activity, and they are ideal for brainstorming sessions and other active sitting environments. The children are moving, even when they seem to be sitting still. The convex base allows for movement in all directions, which is critical to student development as physical movement both increases well-being and encourages the physical and intellectual maturing process. The body of the stool is highly stable and durable, but at the same time extremely light. The soft base padding prevents slipping. The foam sitting surface ensures increased safety for children while seated. I believe these stools will especially benefit students who have ADHD. They need every advantage I can give them, so they can be successful in the classroom. Everyone deserves to be successful in the classroom and If these seats can help them feel that, then they are priceless! I want students to be able to choose if they will sit, stand, fidget, wiggle or bounce while they are still growing in their knowledge. We are in need of tools such as soft seats, and chairs to create this environment in our classroom. I've already worked hard to provide exercise balls and stools for my students, and I think this addition will help even more. Exciting things happen in the classroom when students are not being forced to sit still all day. We must let students wiggle, move, and fidget to keep the brain working hard.
