The new headphones with microphones built in are making quite the splash in my classroom this year. \r\nThe state strongly suggested that we move to a new computer program to assess student reading. This program is on a computer and records and assesses students by listening to them read. The built in microphones in the computers picked up too much background noise. Often my students were frustrated that the program could not hear them read the words correctly. \r\nThese headphones have made a huge difference! Not only have their scores jumped up but their confidence is improving! Also they do not have to read loudly for the program to recognize their voice.
