It has made such a difference in our classroom! The headphones have had the most impact in student learning for a couple of reasons. \r\n First, our school library is going through a major overhaul, and our librarian is working with limited books and space this year, so she introduced a library app for our students where they can listen to audio books or read through the app. Having headphones in our classroom has opened up a whole new world for reluctant readers since they have the option of audio books this year! Secondly, we have a wonderful program that tailors student lessons to their level and headphones are a must for those lessons. With each student doing individualized work, this allows them to concentrate on their own studies instead of hearing the lessons of others going as well. \r\n All of this in addition to the basic school supplies that we received has really helped set our classroom up for success! Thank you so very much for your help in making this a great year.","fullyFundedDate":1763769561706,"projectUrl":"project/listening-to-learn/9830899/","projectTitle":"Listening to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Watson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1948042_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1763495878859","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1948042"},{"teacherId":10310812,"projectId":9824623,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in helping bring new technology into our classroom! Your contribution has truly made a difference in the way my students learn and engage with math every day.\r\n\r\nTechnology has opened doors for my students that simply weren't possible before. Interactive lessons allow them to visualize complex math concepts, explore virtual manipulatives, and receive immediate feedback on their progress. For many students, this hands-on and visual learning style helps build confidence and deeper understanding.\r\n\r\nBefore receiving these headphones, several students struggled to stay focused or follow along during virtual assignments. Background noise and distractions often made it hard for them to hear instructions or fully engage with the lesson. Since introducing the new headphones, I've seen a remarkable change—students are more attentive, confident, and able to work independently. These headphones have truly helped create a calmer, more focused learning environment where every student can succeed.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students are not only learning math—they're excited about it. Thank you for helping create a classroom where curiosity, confidence, and joy in learning can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1760451742652,"projectUrl":"project/let-us-hear/9824623/","projectTitle":"Let Us Hear!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lohnbakken","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10310812"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49537","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2178,"numTeachers":118,"percentFrplEligible":79,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 7","studentTeacherRatio":"18.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":59.1,"schoolId":49537,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Union Sixth & Seventh Grade Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Union Sixth & Seventh Grade Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/union-public-schools/union-6th-7th-grade-center/49537"}
