With such an array of interests, skills, and reading levels in our classroom my students need a range of titles and genres to choose from! New additions to our class library are an exciting way to catch my reluctant reader's attention and enhance everyones love of reading. Looking around my classroom during reading time is one of my favorite things to do as a teacher--precisely because I know each child is off on his or her own adventure and for a short time escaping reality. When I see them suggest a title or author to a friend, I know that much of that is due to the culture of reading we have developed together. By adding more to our library, my kids will continue to enjoy reading as an escape and very special and important time.
