This version has the Shakespeare English on one page and a modern English translation on the opposite page. We go over what they have been reading and then look in the book to see if their predictions are correct. As we continue to read, they are understanding the Shakespeare English and their predictions are getting better. I even have several students who want to take a copy with them when school is over so they can continue to learn from the play and enjoy the translation. Because of you, they have a single place to keep all their notes and practice work. The students enjoyed decorating them when they arrived and use them daily. \r\n\r\nOne student told me it he understood solving equations for the first time because he had examples right in his binder that we did together to follow along with as he did his practice problems. Building and painting it was a great 1st quarter team building activity for my classes.\r\n\r\nI work with struggling readers, and it was especially powerful to see some of the students who are normally reserved jump right in and show off their construction related skills. I truly turned it over to them (I'm not confident in using a drill) and let them take the lead. I liked watching them teach one another, take turns, and encourage one another.\r\nI know they will feel a sense of pride when they see the library installed outside the school.\r\n\r\nIn the meantime, it is exciting that this project is extending outside the walls of my classroom. The AP art students are brainstorming designs to decorate it, and once they are finished, the construction class is going to install the library right by the front doors of our school. My students now have access to tools to help aid in the learning process. Each day my students ask to use the whiteboards and it also helps me see a visual of how they process equations. and easily correct mistakes. Before the bell rings for class to start and on Friday's my students are able to relax on the bean bags, which they greatly appreciate especially if they had an overload of learning from the previous class. I've used the folder and pencils each day, it is math class and having paper and pencil helps me get away from technology. I believe when it comes to math students need a more hands on approach to grasp understanding and having pencil and paper has increased learning structure.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for making a huge impact on my classroom and the items I have received can be used into the next two to three years at least.
