They were so excited to share with classroom friends their creative artwork. For Hispanic Heritage month, we learned about Amate paintings on mulberry paper. We used oil pastels and the brown kraft paper to create our own interpretations of Amate paintings. PreK has used the hammers to create 'Splat Monsters'. We soaked cotton balls in tempera paint and then hit the cotton balls with our hammers. When our paintings dried, we added details to make monsters. Fifth grade is going to start a sculpture unit and the cubes have made explaining and demonstrating 3D very accessible and understandable to kids.\r\n The caddy and storage baskets have been a great way to organize all of our skin tone drawing supplies. I want to ensure that all of my students feel accepted and represented.
