My students were beyond excited when they first saw it and immediately started talking about the games they knew and ways we could use it together.\r\nWe have been using the Switch as a fun way to work on social skills, teamwork, communication, and taking turns. For my students, these are important skills that sometimes take extra practice. Playing games together gives them a chance to practice handling winning and losing, being patient, encouraging each other, and working through frustration in a setting that is fun and motivating.\r\nThe Switch has also been a great motivator for students to complete their work and meet classroom goals. It gives them something positive to work toward and has helped make our classroom a place where learning and building relationships can be fun.\r\nNext, we will continue using the Switch to practice working together, making good choices, and building positive relationships with classmates. Thank you for giving my students another way to learn skills that they can use both inside and outside of the classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1787866655466,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-switch-yeah/10541009/","projectTitle":"Game On, Switch Yeah","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9178255"},{"teacherId":9178255,"projectId":10267502,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping make our classroom a more comfortable and welcoming place for my students! They were so excited when they saw all of the new things, especially the big chair, soft rug, bubble fish lamp, and jellyfish light. The new calming area quickly became a favorite spot in our room.\r\nMy students use this space when they need a break, are feeling overwhelmed, or just need a quiet place to reset before getting back to work. We also use the speaker for calming music, and the storage bins have helped us keep our classroom materials organized and easy to find.\r\nOne of the best parts has been seeing students learn what works for them. Some need a few quiet minutes in the chair, while others like watching the fish or listening to music. Having these choices gives them a chance to calm down and get themselves ready to learn again.\r\nNext, we are going to keep working on using the space independently. I want my students to be able to recognize when they need a break, choose something that helps them, and then get back to what they were working on.\r\nThank you again for giving my students a space where they can feel comfortable and supported. When the boxes were delivered to my classroom the students were all excited to see what hands-on activities awaited them. The donations for this project were centered around my personal financial literacy class and included two sets of five boardgames. My math classes were slightly disappointed when they learned the games were not for them! I did reassure them that towards the end of the school year, they too would have a chance to learn and play. \r\nHaving the opportunity to have a day of hands-on learning instead of lectures or videos makes such an impact.
