We started using our first novel, \"The Maze Runner\", in October and our second, \"The Book Thief\", right after Christmas break. So many students lack a desire to read because it's hard to find books that interest them and make them want to read. The two novels we received have inspired students who didn't enjoy reading as a hobby fall in love with it. My students would ask everyday if we were reading again and if we had a break they were disappointed and couldn't wait to dive back in! I even had two families reach out and say thank you when their nonreader asked for a series of books to follow one we read together in class. That brought me such joy! When I choose books to read to my class I intentionally pick ones that I know will make them want to read the next chapter. My goal is show students that books can be engaging and exciting.","fullyFundedDate":1758815633644,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-curiosityone-novel-at-a-time/9679535/","projectTitle":"Fuel Curiosity—One Novel at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hubble","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6846229_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y501&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756939382231","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6846229"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_44400","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":299,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":42,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":71,"percentIndigenous":7,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"23.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":78.8,"schoolId":44400,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Middleberg Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Middleberg Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/middleberg-school-district-96/middleberg-elementary-school/44400"}
