The artists learned and practiced the idea of creating something using a design, protype, and creation process. They learned that going back to the beginning of their design or prototype is part of being an artist and inventor. \r\n When we first opened the materials and discussed all the things we could create with the new tools, the students were thrilled and had an endless list of ideas. Some artists were even familiar with the Chomp Saw and some even made connections to working with their family on a jig saw. A few were hesitant until I reassured them of the safety of the Chomp Saw.\r\n The artists continue to work on their designs and some are on to their next idea. I love seeing their confidence grow as they work through the design issues and strategies of improvement. You have no idea of how much it has helped save time to have my own classroom set of headphones. \r\n\r\nI teach a special education classroom where students come for just a small portion of their day. Sometimes their own headphones they bring, may not work properly (mainly the microphone for the Reading test). Having my own set saves valuable time because they don't have to go back to their class to get another pair of headphones. My student can use the ones provided by Donors Choose. \r\n\r\nMy students loved the assorted colors of the headphones! In my project, there were also new multicolor dry erase markers. The students loved working and writing with them!
