All of my students in grades 1-8 have now learned the basic moves of the different chess pieces by working through Level One of Storytime Chess, and we just finished playing an in-class tournament. The students are being challenged to think ahead, applying problem-solving skills to their strategies. They are also learning friendly competition and gracious sportsmanship.\r\n\r\nWe are looking forward to continuing our chess studies with the next two levels of Storytime Chess, and next semester we will add the Rubik's Cube Challenge.
