Hands-on math and reading manipulatives give students a visual hands-on way of learning. With the use of the ten frame paddles, counters, and scales they will be able to use these materials in class to get a better understanding of the objectives that we will be learning using these materials. I want to give my students the ability to learn using hands-on materials. My students thrive on fun, engaging activities in the classroom, and I can only hope that these items will provide this for them. We will be using the ten frame paddles for years to come. The counters will come in handy when we are working through math problems as a class. With the balance scales, smaller groups will be able to explore greater/ less than using weighted numbers as well as the weight of different objects in the classroom.
