Your generosity provided us with new games, activities, and supplies that allow my students to practice their speech and language skills in ways that are engaging, hands-on, and fun.\r\n\r\nMy students were SO excited when they saw all of our new materials! One of the biggest hits has been our new gumball machine, which we use as an incentive for working hard and meeting goals during speech sessions. Something as simple as earning a turn at the gumball machine has brought so much excitement to our room and gives students a little extra motivation to keep trying, even when we are working on skills that are difficult for them.\r\n\r\nThe new games have also quickly become favorites. We are able to incorporate them into speech sessions while practicing articulation sounds, vocabulary, answering questions, following directions, social communication, and other individualized speech and language goals. The students often feel like they are simply playing a game, while in reality they are getting valuable practice and building important communication skills.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using these resources throughout the school year as students work toward their individual goals. As they master one skill, we will build on it and challenge them with the next. These materials give me more ways to keep therapy fresh, motivating, and meaningful for students with many different needs and ability levels.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and our speech therapy program.
