The most impactful part of the day is during morning meeting. I write a morning message every morning to highlight important learning skills and let my students know what is going on throughout the day. My students are using the chart paper during whole-group lessons to share ideas, record important information, and work through problems together. The chart stand gives us a designated space to display our learning where everyone can easily see and participate. When the materials first arrived, my students were excited to see something new that they could use and interact with. They especially enjoy coming up to the chart and contributing their ideas to our class discussions.\r\n\r\nWe are continuing to use these resources as we work through our current lessons and classroom activities. Students are building their confidence by sharing their thinking, explaining their ideas, and learning from one another. Having a place to make our learning visible has encouraged more students to participate and has helped us celebrate their progress along the way. Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and providing materials that help make learning more engaging, collaborative, and meaningful for my students!","fullyFundedDate":1786201425271,"projectUrl":"project/morning-messages-lasting-learning/10383778/","projectTitle":"Morning Messages, Lasting Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Corbett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp413834_orig.jpg?crop=2010,2010,x0,y515&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657141713673","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kris-lehman"},{"teacherId":413834,"projectId":10258017,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to see the new science materials arrive in our classroom! They immediately wanted to explore the magnetic wands and test which objects would attract to them. What started as simple curiosity quickly turned into thoughtful conversations as students made predictions, tested their ideas, and explained what they observed.\r\n\r\nWe are also using the balance scales to compare objects, make predictions about which will be heavier or lighter, and practice measuring and describing our observations. The science picture books have become a wonderful way to introduce new concepts and encourage students to ask questions before beginning hands-on investigations.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments has been watching students realize that they can think and work like scientists. They are learning that it is okay to make a prediction that does not turn out the way they expected because every test gives them new information. Their excitement, questions, and willingness to explore have made science lessons more meaningful and engaging.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue investigating magnetism and measurement through hands-on activities. Students will make predictions, test different materials, record their observations, and share what they discover with their classmates. These resources are helping turn everyday curiosity into authentic scientific discovery, and I am so grateful to our donors for making these experiences possible. During math and reading lessons, students use the boards to practice skills, show their thinking, and quickly make corrections. One of my favorite moments was during a math lesson when every student was able to solve a problem on their board and hold it up at the same time—it gave me an instant snapshot of understanding and allowed for immediate feedback and discussion.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was contagious. Students were eager to use the wipe-off boards right away, and many of them loved the idea that they could try, make mistakes, erase, and try again without worry. The laminator has also been a game changer, allowing me to create reusable materials tailored specifically to our lessons.\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using these tools to support hands-on learning and active participation. I am creating more laminated resources for small groups and independent practice so students can build confidence and independence. These materials are helping foster a classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, practicing skills repeatedly, and staying engaged in their learning. Thank you again for your generous donation and support for our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1771108463953,"projectUrl":"project/write-wipe-repeat/10089994/","projectTitle":"Write! Wipe! While our students love stories, these new texts have allowed us to go much deeper into the skills that strong readers develop. Through this novel, students are practicing predicting, analyzing character traits, identifying themes, building vocabulary, and using text evidence to support their thinking. The book also introduces important social-emotional lessons—friendship, empathy, kindness, and courage—which naturally spark meaningful conversations during our reading time.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is a joyful, community-building experience. Students gather with their books in hand, follow along during read-aloud, discuss their ideas with partners, and respond in journals. Because every student has their own copy, everyone can engage equally—tracking the text, rereading confusing parts, and feeling like confident, capable readers. The room truly comes alive with curiosity as students flip pages, whisper predictions, and react to key moments in the story.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just put books in students' hands—it gave them confidence, connection, and a genuine love of reading.
