Your support has had a meaningful and immediate impact on science instruction in my classroom.\r\n\r\nBecause of this gift card, I was able to purchase high-quality science resources, including interactive science notebooks and engaging instructional slides aligned to our standards. These materials have helped me present science concepts in a clear, visual, and hands-on way, allowing students to better understand and retain the content.\r\n\r\nThe science notebooks have given students an organized space to record vocabulary, diagrams, observations, and reflections. This has strengthened their ownership of learning and allowed them to revisit concepts throughout the unit. The instructional slides have supported whole-group instruction by providing clear visuals, guided discussions, and structured explanations that meet a variety of learning needs.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these resources have increased student engagement and confidence in science. Students are more excited to participate, ask questions, and explain their thinking. The combination of notebooks and slides has helped create a consistent and effective learning experience for all learners.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my classroom and supporting meaningful science instruction. As the students came to my classroom one afternoon, they were given brief descriptions on each of the STEM items you provided for us, and then they were allowed to self-select a STEM kit that met their interest level. We discussed all the potential occupational/scientific fields these materials could help us learn about such as: astronomy, engineering, and earth science. When the students finally were able to begin building/learning with the materials, so many things began to happen. I saw emotions of joy and excitement, but I also saw some faces with problem solving expressions on them. Students were improving their communication skills as they discussed construction possibilities while incorporating the vocabulary associated with each kit. There was so much thinking and problem solving happening! Afterwards, students were asked to reflect on their experiences and what they learned during this STEM session. Many commented on how much fun they had and their gratitude for the materials. Others commented on specifics like how they learned how important it was that the wiring connections were properly assembled for the robot to work or how when building a Lego machine how each part had an important job and was needed for the machine to function properly.\r\n\r\nThank you for providing these materials to our 5th grade students. They eagerly unpacked the paints and brushes, imagining the glowing gardens, galaxies, and collaborative murals they could create. Many immediately began sketching ideas and discussing which colors and techniques they wanted to try, and the energy in the classroom was contagious.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the materials in several hands-on projects, including our Glow Art Gallery, Gardens, and Galaxies. One unforgettable moment was when students applied neon paints to create swirling galaxy designs on black construction paper and then turned off the lights to see their artwork glow under blacklight. The amazement and pride on their faces were priceless. they were thrilled to see their creative visions come to life and to share their work with classmates and their families at the art gallery. The projects also allowed students to practice collaboration, problem-solving, and planning, while exploring color mixing, spatial design, and artistic techniques.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to this year expand the Glow Art Gallery by creating seasonal and themed pieces inspired by science and nature. Students will continue experimenting with glow-in-the-dark paints, exploring patterns, textures, and storytelling in their artwork. Eyes lit up as they explored the boxes, imagining the robots and experiments they could build. Many immediately began brainstorming projects and sharing ideas with their peers, eager to start testing, building, and creating.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the kits in several engaging ways. One memorable project involved the robot-building kits: students worked in teams to design and program robots, testing circuits, motion, and balance. They had to troubleshoot when things didn't work as planned, make improvements, and celebrate each successful experiment. Another activity involved the Giggle way electric motor kits, where students built doodling and balance robots, experimenting with energy, motion, and simple machines. These hands-on projects give students opportunities to problem-solve, collaborate, and think critically while having fun.\r\n\r\nThe impact on learning has been remarkable. Students who sometimes struggle with focus or confidence are now fully engaged, motivated to experiment, and proud to share their discoveries with classmates. These resources have allowed me to provide more hands-on STEM challenges and differentiated instruction, helping every student succeed academically while building teamwork and perseverance.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to integrate coding and robotics lessons using the build-a-robot kits, challenging students to create robots that can perform specific tasks or navigate obstacles. Many immediately began imagining what they could build, design, and explore. The excitement and energy in the classroom were contagious, and I could see students already thinking critically about how to approach each challenge.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the materials in a variety of ways. One standout project has been the roller coaster engineering challenge. Students worked in small teams to design and construct working roller coaster models, testing how energy, motion, and velocity interact. They experimented, adjusted their designs when things didn't work as planned, and celebrated each success together. Another project had students use the pixel art and building block sets to create patterns and structures while learning spatial reasoning, coding basics, and problem-solving skills.\r\n\r\nThe students' reactions have been incredible. Students who normally struggle with focus or confidence are now fully engaged, collaborating eagerly, and sharing their discoveries with classmates. They are not just reading about concepts. They are actively experimenting, observing, and problem-solving. For example, after reading about glaciers and erosion, students worked in small groups to build models showing how glaciers shape landscapes. Lessons about earthquakes and volcanos have led to lively class discussions and creative projects where students demonstrate how these natural phenomena occur.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has become interactive and purposeful. Students are learning to extract information from text, think critically about what they read, and apply that knowledge in real-world ways. In social studies, students are using maps and civics activities to better understand communities and government, connecting lessons to their own lives.\r\n\r\nThese materials have been especially meaningful for students who previously struggled with reading or staying engaged. One student who usually hesitates to read is now eager to share facts about the human body or water cycles with classmates. Others have found new confidence exploring geography and civics topics through fun, interactive activities.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, these resources also support social-emotional learning.
