As a school counselor serving students across PK–12, I am often working outside of my office—in classrooms, hallways, small-group spaces, and wherever a student may need support. Having a portable device allows me to bring counseling resources with me instead of being limited by what I can carry or access in my office.\r\n\r\nThe iPad has allowed me to provide more engaging and individualized counseling experiences through interactive therapeutic activities, virtual sand trays, calming resources, EMDR support, and other tools that help students communicate and process their emotions in ways that feel comfortable and accessible to them. For some students, being able to use an interactive tool rather than simply sitting and talking can make all the difference in helping them feel safe enough to participate.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this project has helped me meet students where they are. Every student communicates and processes emotions differently, and having additional tools allows me to better adapt my counseling approach to each individual child. I am incredibly grateful to the donors who made this possible. Your generosity has not simply provided a piece of technology—it has given me another way to connect with students, support their emotional well-being, and remind them that they have a safe place at school where they are seen, heard, and cared for.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and in the work I am privileged to do with them. We use each of the items daily, especially the PlayStation 5 and the Switch controllers. These pieces of equipment helped us compete in our first esports competition last Saturday, where the team was able to go 12-4 across a variety of different games. The students are extremely grateful to have the opportunity to compete on such high level equipment, and it is showing in their dedication, teamwork, and drive to succeed.
