Because of your kindness, our students now have access to dozens of new books along with supplies like markers, pens, and whiteboards that help bring learning to life each day. Your support truly makes a difference in what we are able to offer our students.\r\n\r\nThe new books are already becoming an important part of our daily learning. While many people enjoy reading for fun, there are so many skills involved in learning how to read deeply and thoughtfully. These texts help us teach important skills such as identifying the main idea, making predictions, understanding characters' feelings and motivations, and finding evidence in the text to support answers. We also practice vocabulary development and comprehension strategies that help students become stronger, more confident readers.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an active and engaging experience. Students spend time reading independently, working in small groups, and participating in whole-class discussions. We often use our whiteboards and markers to jot down ideas, track new vocabulary, and respond to questions about the story. The supplies you provided make it easier for students to share their thinking and stay engaged in the lesson.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have already formed special connections with the new books. Some who were previously hesitant readers are now excited to pick up a book and participate in discussions. It has been wonderful to see students recommending books to one another and eagerly asking for more time to read. Watching their confidence grow and their excitement about reading develop has been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore stories, ask questions, and grow as readers. Thank you again for investing in our students and helping make learning both meaningful and joyful.","fullyFundedDate":1765735802516,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-freshman-minds-9th-grade-engli/9570129/","projectTitle":"Fueling Freshman Minds: 9th Grade English","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Whitlock","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10052610_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754794680838","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10052610"},{"teacherId":7564123,"projectId":9383001,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity in funding a class set of calculators for my high school Algebra classes. After reading the novel, they form groups of four and get to step into the Gamemakers' minds.
