When we received our packages, the students were so excited and cheered when we did our unboxing. Thanks to you, I have been able to create material for my students to improve their learning experience. This has included a daily ELA-R Spiral that reviews all of our State ELA standards through fun activities each day in a spiraling method. Students are able to take their own little ELA Spiral notebook and complete an activity a day as a brain warm-up to prepare for our learning. \r\n\r\nI was also able to use the binding machine to create and utilize novel studies! Students LOVE to complete novel studies whether it is done in a whole group or small group setting. As an entire class, we have been able to read three novels so far and use our Spiral Bound thinking sheets to write summaries, create timelines, conduct character analysis and growth charts, and so much more! We have also been able to take work/projects students are most proud of and bind them to create a portfolio. Students will be presenting these during parent-teacher conferences and during our family engagement night! \r\n\r\nThank you again for your help and support to our classroom! We could not do it without amazing and dedicated people like YOU!","fullyFundedDate":1744033019393,"projectUrl":"project/lets-bind-our-learning-to-stick/9238216/","projectTitle":"Let's Bind Our Learning to Stick!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Goodwin-Huck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9649838"},{"teacherId":5337678,"projectId":9126730,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom with the book, \"The Sasquatch Escape\" from the Imaginary Veterinary series. The students enjoyed the book so much they wanted to read the rest of the series! \r\nThis book engaged the students so much with the visualization that it gives from the text that we brought the story to life by making dioramas. The students chose a scene from the book and using a shoebox, clay, paint, and other recyclable materials made vibrant 3D image depicting the characters and their encounters. After they finished this process they wrote a paper about their diorama. \r\nI thank you so much for investing in our class and my students' love of learning!","fullyFundedDate":1743018439769,"projectUrl":"project/book-club-inspiration/9126730/","projectTitle":"Book Club Inspiration","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Edwards","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5337678_orig.jpg?crop=936,936,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1559541075535","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5337678"},{"teacherId":9967812,"projectId":9165542,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous support, my students received a class set of Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix and the impact has already been incredible. This gripping dystopian novel has sparked a new excitement for reading in my classroom. For many students, this is the first chapter book they've been truly hooked on . They eagerly anticipate our reading time and often ask to keep reading beyond our scheduled blocks. The story's suspense, relatable characters, and thought provoking themes have helped even reluctant readers become more engaged and confident. \r\n\r\nThese texts have provided rich opportunities to develop key literacy skills such as inferencing, analyzing character development, and identifying theme. We've had powerful classroom discussions around government control, identity, fairness, and bravery. Lessons that extend far beyond the page. One student, who usually struggles to connect with books, told me, \"This is the first book I actually want to finish.\" Another has taken it upon themselves to research the rest of the series, inspired to read more on their own. When we received our packages, the students were so excited and cheered when we did our unboxing. Thanks to you, my students were able to have snacks while going over test review materials. We all know that if a child is hungry while learning, their learning focus is cut down significantly. The breakfast box also came in handy while doing state tests, as my students who needed a quick breakfast were able to receive something to eat and drink. \r\n\r\nThank you also for the laminating pouches! I was able to create test prep activities, task cards, review flash cards, and games for the students to utilize while (unknowingly) studying and reviewing all of our standards in preparation for their state assessments in math and ELA! They had so much fun playing slime blast (a math review game I created) and several told me I should save it for after test assessments and for next years students. Thanks to your donation and getting these pouches donated to the classroom, I am able to do just that! We will be using them for our GLOW Day to celebrate wrapping up a year full of learning and I will store them for future students to have fun with their learning for the years to come. \r\nThank you again for your help and support to our classroom! With the healthy breakfast snacks, my students were able to have a healthy treat in the morning to help them focus and make the most of what matters. Students have a long break between breakfast and lunch, with our math block being in the middle of this time period. Students were able to enjoy these granola bars and breakfast biscuits while learning new math concepts. Each student found one that they liked and, compared to other days when we are not always able to have a breakfast/morning snack available, students did excellent on their math work! \r\n Several students even commented on how they felt they were able to focus more since they had a snack and \"felt smarter\" because of your donation as well! They were so excited to open our snack box and yelled out an enthusiastic THANK YOU, when I informed them that it had been donated to our class. We also greatly appreciate the stools that were able to be purchased as these have been used as flexible seating at the desks and utilized during small groups where students are able to get one-on-one or small groups intervention/instruction to better their academic knowledge.
