When the students saw the first boxes, they were so excited! They were able to help me 'unbox' our first item....our wicker chairs! We had to put them together as soon as possible and students placed them on the porch in the perfect spot. Next, came our turtle stepping stones. They could not wait to get them outside! Our balls and tunnel set arrived last. You could feel the excitement in the classroom. \r\nOur first outdoor learning time, I set everything up. We worked on a few letters in our names. The turtle stepping stones were for hopping and naming letters. The tunnel had letters hidden inside for students to find, bring out, and trace. Reading books on the patio in chairs made just for them was a favorite spot! The balls were for tossing and naming letters on the ground.\r\nNow, students guide some of the learning. They help set up some of the areas while reflecting on what we have learned. They have made letters, numbers, and shapes for the tunnel and placed the turtles in number order, angles, and shapes!
