Soon, we will start the Project Hail Mary novel study, where we will discuss each chapter with the ultimate goal of discussing the complexities of humanity's role among the stars. Given the option between colonizing other planets or fixing Earth first, most students pick the former. However, Project Hail Mary provides an example of \"what if we HAVE to leave Earth?\" So I can assure you, your contribution will do much more than simply entertain my Honors class. \r\n\r\nThe Hobbit, on the other hand, will play a major role in introducing students to a fantasy world - something that many teenagers aren't as interested in as prior generations, and what better universe than the Tolkienverse? We'll do this lesson at the end of the year, so as to end on a more entertaining note!\r\n\r\nAgain, I can't thank you all enough for what you've done to support my classroom and especially these students. Literacy is at the forefront of education because it is, for lack of a better term, so poor with today's teens. As much as I may not be able to save the world on my own, I can at least ensure my students write better and read more quality stories.
