Your generosity means so much to me, but even more importantly, it means the world to the incredible students I have the privilege of teaching every day.\r\n\r\nAs a preschool special education teacher, I work with young children who have significant orthopedic impairments and other disabilities. Many of my students cannot independently activate a traditional toy because of the physical challenges they face. Something as simple as pressing a button to make a toy light up, play music, or move can be incredibly difficult—or even impossible—without adaptations.\r\n\r\nThese adapted toys are so much more than fun classroom materials. They help my students learn about cause and effect, practice making choices, build attention and communication skills, and participate more fully in classroom activities alongside their peers. Most importantly, they provide opportunities for independence, confidence, and inclusion—things every child deserves.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students will have access to toys that can be operated using adaptive switches. These toys give them something many children experience every day without a second thought: the opportunity to make something happen all by themselves. Watching a child's face light up when they realize, \"I did that!\" is one of the most rewarding moments I get to witness as a teacher.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing that every child should have access to meaningful learning experiences. Your kindness is helping create a classroom where all of my students can explore, play, and succeed, regardless of their physical abilities.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and for making a lasting impact on their lives. Your generosity will be felt every single day our classroom is filled with laughter, curiosity, and the joy of children discovering what they are capable of.","fullyFundedDate":1774453095246,"projectUrl":"project/switching-on-the-fun-lights-sounds-an/9935972/","projectTitle":"Switching On the Fun: Lights, Sounds, and Play for All","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tedford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2906345_orig.jpg?crop=3714,3714,x0,y1151&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1559524809907","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2906345"},{"teacherId":2906345,"projectId":9859733,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our preschool classroom and helping fund communication buttons for our students.
