The blow-up turtle used with the parachute brought a new level of excitement to class. Students practiced essential cooperative skills, such as timing, rhythm, and spatial awareness, as they worked together to make the turtle \"float\" and bounce during games. This activity also supported development in upper-body coordination and core strength, as the students controlled the parachute through various motions like lifts, waves, and rotations.\r\n\r\nThe giant inflatable ball for crab soccer has been a favorite among students and a fantastic tool for enhancing lower-body coordination, agility, and balance. The crab walk position required them to engage in full-body movement, using their arms and legs in a coordinated way. This helped improve muscle endurance, especially in the core, shoulders, and hips, while promoting spatial and body awareness as they maneuvered around each other safely during the game.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting meaningful, movement-rich experiences for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1746787119386,"projectUrl":"project/turtles-and-tees/9160032/","projectTitle":"Turtles and TEE's","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Allds","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2859976"},{"teacherId":9012736,"projectId":9290063,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contributions to my Donors Choose project! Because of your support, my counseling office now has a small bookshelf to neatly organize and display important social-emotional learning (SEL) materials, brochure holders filled with helpful resources for students and families, lamination supplies to preserve activities and visuals I use during individual and group counseling sessions, and an exciting new sticker store and fidget tools for student incentives and self-regulation.\r\n\r\nThe students were so excited when they saw the new materials in the room! One student walked in, eyes wide, and said, \"Whoa! Is that a whole store of stickers?!\" The sticker store has become a fun and motivating way to celebrate their efforts in using coping skills, staying focused, or showing kindness. The fidgets have been a big hit with my students who need something in their hands to help them manage stress or stay grounded during our sessions. The laminated resources are already being used in small group lessons on friendship, self-regulation, and handling big emotions—and the durability means they'll be useful for years to come!\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're diving into lessons on responsible decision-making and conflict resolution. The SEL brochures are being sent home with students who may need additional support, creating a bridge between home and school. Your donations have not only brightened our space but have made these supports more accessible and engaging. I'm incredibly grateful for your kindness and belief in the importance of school counseling.
