We created a striking and targeting unit where students rotate through activities that focus on hand-eye coordination, balance, and control. One memorable moment was during our mini golf station when students worked in small groups to design their own simple putting challenges using cones and obstacles. They practiced patience, encouraged one another, and celebrated improvements in accuracy. The beanbags have been incorporated into partner tossing challenges and target games, helping students build teamwork and tracking skills, while the lollipop paddles have allowed us to safely introduce striking skills in a developmentally appropriate and confidence-building way.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to try everything and couldn't wait to get started. Many students who are sometimes hesitant in physical education were especially drawn to the mini golf and paddle activities because they felt fun and approachable. Thanks to our donors, students feel empowered to practice, take risks, and improve their skills in a supportive environment. The next steps in our current unit include combining skills into small-sided games and cooperative challenges where students apply striking and targeting skills together.
