Immediately upon receiving the equipment it was open and used. One of our first lessons in the new year is learning how to participate in a relay. The cones, hula hoops, and bean bags have been wonderful in making the relay races more entertaining and interactive. Students are able to manipulate the bean bags in different ways to have them work on skills such as balancing and running at the same time. \r\n\r\nMy students were so excited to have new equipment to play with. We have had some hula hoops that have been falling apart and this was a great reset for them. Also, my preschool students think that the ribbon dancers are the greatest thing! They have been dancing and twirling with them since day one. It has made the performances the create so much more fun and really allowed them to use their imaginations even more. \r\n\r\nWe will be learning a new game with the bean bags, hula hoops, and mini stuffed animals soon. It will be so great to introduce a new game to my students since we have to resources to do it. My students are already benefitting so greatly from the items that you sent to us. These items were requested to be incentives for the students at my school for doing the right thing, going above and beyond throughout their school day, and to incentivize them during testing and other academic related events. \r\n\r\nMy students where thrilled to see a new variety of items to choose from in the school store and my specific prize bin. Prior to these donations, I had mini erasers and this has allowed us to have things like small stuffed animals, snap bracelets, and the ever favorite squishy animals. My students could not be more thrilled to have those as an option. When we came back from the holiday break and reviewed the rules and expectations, students were able to pick from the bin when remembering certain procedures and their faces lit up with all of the choices! \r\n\r\nWe will be taking the materials out of the school store soon and incentivizing the students with these prizes during the testing season as well. It will give us the chance to give them a little treat for trying their best and focusing on showing off all that they have learned this year. Each item has played a vital role in creating a more engaging and motivating learning environment for my students.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating options and the opportunity for student choice have truly transformed the way my students approach their learning. By allowing them to select where and how they work, they take ownership of their education in a meaningful way. I have observed students choosing to work at different tables, sitting comfortably under tables with clipboards, or even lying on the floor while completing their assignments. This freedom to find a comfortable spot has been essential in boosting their motivation.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the individual whiteboards, dry erase markers, and erasers have become invaluable tools during lessons and independent work time. Students enjoy using their personal whiteboards to write out problems, brainstorm ideas, and receive immediate feedback. These tools encourage active participation and allow for quick corrections, helping students stay engaged and confident in their learning process.\r\n\r\nThe Teachers Pay Teachers gift card has also been a tremendous help, allowing me to acquire meaningful math resources tailored specifically for my gifted learners. These materials have enriched their learning experience and provided challenges that keep them motivated and excited about math.\r\n\r\nThe positive changes are remarkable. When given the chance to decide their seating and work style, students consistently make thoughtful choices, enjoy writing and exploring different ways to solve problems, and stay more engaged throughout lessons. They also tend to complete more work compared to when they are confined to traditional desks.\r\n\r\n\r\nThanks to all of you, my classroom has become a space where students feel empowered, comfortable, and excited to learn. I am incredibly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1747156065958,"projectUrl":"project/focused-on-learning/9053530/","projectTitle":"Focused on Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ryan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9209621"},{"teacherId":9164309,"projectId":9199487,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the donation to my classroom. We have been enjoying bringing a collaborative piece of art to life in our classroom. \r\n\r\nWhen the students saw the art supplies, they could not hide their smiles and joy. The students are all in love with art, drawing, and creativity. They were asking to use it right away. It is so special seeing the students so happy and excited to participate in activities. \r\n\r\nIn our classroom we are going to keep using the art supplies to encourage students to participate and express their creativity. The new resources—Gamewright Shifting Stones, Its Mathhive, Mindware Q-Bitz Pattern Matching Fun Board Games, and Learning Resources Tumble Trax Magnetic Marble Run—have truly transformed the learning experience for my students.\r\n\r\nWe are actively using these materials in engaging, hands-on ways. For example, during a recent math lesson, students worked in small groups to solve pattern and strategy challenges using the Q-Bitz and Shifting Stones games. This project not only strengthened their problem-solving skills but also encouraged collaboration and communication among peers. One memorable moment was when a student who usually struggles with math excitedly led her group to victory in a Shifting Stones round, boosting her confidence immensely.\r\n\r\nThe students' reaction upon seeing these new materials was pure excitement and curiosity. They were eager to explore and immediately dove into the games, asking thoughtful questions and making connections to the math concepts we've been studying. It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and engagement grow.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to integrate the Tumble Trax Magnetic Marble Run into our upcoming lessons on physics and engineering principles. This hands-on project will help students understand concepts like gravity, motion, and cause-and-effect in a fun and interactive way. Additionally, the pattern recognition skills they are developing with the Mathhive and Q-Bitz games will support their progress in more advanced math topics this semester.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, my students are more motivated and excited about learning than ever before. It has had huge impacts on my students. The students were provided with headphones for the individual usage. This is beneficial for multiple reasons. First, the students are able to use their headphones when working on their academic work independently. Prior to the headphones, the students were distracted and unfocused due to all the noise. In addition, it supports our testing needs. Students need to be in a learning productive environment to take their test. When the ipads are not quiet, it is near impossible to focus on their test. Lastly, the students need the headphones for when it is free time. The students are able to watch their videos, games, or books without disrupting others. It is a true game changer for them as well as myself. I personally would become overwhelmed or distracted when teaching small groups or whole class with noise from technology in the background. It is safe to say that myself and my students are very appreciative.\r\n\r\nMy students were elated when I was able to surprise them with the headphones. They were very excited to have their own headphones that they did not have to share. They are learning responsibility of their headphones and taking their assignments and testing much more serious. It is so amazing how something as simple as headphones can change the whole tone of their work and assessment focus.\r\n\r\nI just wanted to again say my appreciations for this donation.
