When the students walked into the room one early morning, they immediately noticed a decorated box full of materials. When the time for social studies finally came, they could not wait to come to the carpet and explore the materials. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWe use the materials in many ways. During indoor recess, the map puzzles are a favorite activity. Many students had never done a puzzle before, and it's great to see them thinking in new ways. The globes help the class learn about continents and oceans, and we've compared how the world looks on globes and flat maps. The compasses are also popular during outdoor recess. I let the children explore the playground, and I give them a landmark to find. Then, they tell a partner which direction they went.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your contribution. \"Around the World in 45 Days!\" is a HUGE SUCCESS.","fullyFundedDate":1758809198055,"projectUrl":"project/around-the-world-in-45-days/9681843/","projectTitle":"Around the World in 45 Days!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sears","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6704905_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734568311761","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6704905"},{"teacherId":6551886,"projectId":9437136,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to our \"This Year Will be Charming\" project! They enjoy wearing them as part of their uniform. Knowing that these sweatshirts align with our school's dress code brings them a sense of pride and belonging. Additionally, my principal appreciates this initiative because it eliminates the hassle of reminding kids to adhere to the uniform policy. There's a noticeable reduction in conflicts regarding inappropriate attire, making the overall school day smoother for everyone involved.\r\n\r\nTo facilitate easy access, I decided to keep the sweatshirts hung on the backs of the students' chairs. This simple arrangement allows me to effectively monitor their condition while giving the students the freedom to put them on or take them off throughout the day as needed. Whether they're feeling chilly during a morning lesson or want to take it off during recess, they can do so with ease.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project has been a resounding success, contributing not only to a more comfortable learning environment but also to a more cohesive and relaxed atmosphere in our first-grade classroom. The warmth of the sweatshirts extends beyond the fabric. It fosters a sense of community and security among the students, making our classroom a happier place to learn and grow!","fullyFundedDate":1756226094837,"projectUrl":"project/im-cold-can-i-wear-my-coat-no-uni/9517207/","projectTitle":"\"I’m Cold. Not only were the students able to learn treble clef notes for the piano, but they were also able to learn for the recorders. Students learned more quickly as they assisted one another. They quizzed each other and later identified notes from the screen. Many students wished to repeat the activity daily. It served as a successful aid in helping the students learn those notes and their locations on the staff. \r\n\r\nOnce the students discovered where the notes were, they happily sat at the keyboard and started creating their own music using all the enjoyable features it offers. I stayed after school and unpacked the box and organized the pockets. It was to no surpise that everything fit perfectly.\r\n\r\nThe next day, the students began to assemble into the classroom. They were so excited to see all of their learning materials neatly organized in their chairpockets. Each child was thrilled to see their name written on the name tag attached to the chairpocket. I allowed the students to inspect the pockets and the material in it. I have to say, it was probably one of the best days they had all year. \r\n\r\nThe chairpockets have made such a difference in our classroom. Since in place, nothing has been lost or misplaced. This is time better spent on instruction.","fullyFundedDate":1736979232128,"projectUrl":"project/operation-organization-keeping-first-gr/9016142/","projectTitle":"Operation Organization- Keeping First Grade Students Organized","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sears","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6704905_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734568311761","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6704905"},{"teacherId":2796045,"projectId":5221298,"letterContent":"Your generous donation has truly made a big difference during this COVID pandemic! It was so rewarding to demonstrate what they needed to complete their compositions. Most of the time, I had the pleasure of holding one-on-one sessions with students.
