This has been a great experience for me and my class. I have made more books for my class then I have ever. I have been making and sending books home weekly. I sent home the dry erase boards for the students to practice writing their letters, words, and sentences. I have used the chart paper a couple times a week. This was great and I have loved having this material for the class and especially to send home. The students were very excited. They could not believe we received all this stuff. They were saying \"WOW\", I am so glad to have this for home. The students were excited as well as the parents. \r\n\r\nThey cannot afford things like this, so they also thanked me and the donors for the materials. We are learning to read and write. So all the materials that we received is perfect for that. The more books I send home the more the students will be able to read. We are having problems with students in upper grades reading on grade level. So with me sending home books this will help them in the long run read more and love to read. \"Reading is the heartbeat of our classroom, but my students need to have a chance to read. My students are hungry for stories that reflect their own lives and introduce them to new worlds. And with the books I am sending home, it will show them things outside their lives as well as in thier lives. I am grateful for all the help I can get in my class and in the homes of students that need it and that can't afford it.","fullyFundedDate":1765205041262,"projectUrl":"project/making-materials-to-be-used-at-home/9737271/","projectTitle":"Making Materials to Be Used at Home","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bakke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5620246"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_25126","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":644,"numTeachers":49,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":49,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.4,"schoolId":25126,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Barwell Road Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Barwell Road Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/wake-county-public-school-system/barwell-road-elementary-school/25126"}
