We are using them during awards days, school assemblies, recognition events, and special classroom celebrations to create a memorable moment for students when they are recognized in front of their peers and families. Something as simple as walking the red carpet has helped make these moments feel even more meaningful and exciting.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the red carpets, they were so excited! Many of them immediately started talking about how \"fancy\" and \"important\" it made them feel. They couldn't wait for their turn to walk on it, and it instantly built excitement around celebrating effort, growth, and achievement.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our students are continuing to work hard toward academic and personal goals so they can be recognized and celebrated throughout the year. Whether it's for classroom achievements, school-wide awards, or special leadership moments, the red carpet will continue to be a way to highlight student success and help build confidence, motivation, and school pride.","fullyFundedDate":1769785270411,"projectUrl":"project/red-carpet-moments-celebrating-learning/10055698/","projectTitle":"Red Carpet Moments: Celebrating Learning, Leadership, and Family Engagement","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stalls","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3453764_orig.jpg?crop=914,914,x0,y82&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1677158760048","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3453764"},{"teacherId":9451993,"projectId":9701171,"letterContent":"Bee-Bots are helping our K–5 students learn by turning important skills like problem-solving, sequencing, and directionality into hands-on experiences. Instead of only talking about these concepts, students program the Bee-Bots using simple buttons and immediately see the results of their thinking. This instant feedback encourages students to plan carefully, test their ideas, and revise when needed, building perseverance and confidence. Students also practice collaboration and communication as they work together to solve challenges.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about Bee-Bots is that they are in control of the learning. They love telling the robot what to do and watching it come to life as it follows their commands. Because Bee-Bots don't require screens or reading to get started, students of all ages can jump right in. Connecting Bee-Bot activities to stories, maps, and themed STEM challenges makes learning feel like a game, keeping students highly engaged and eager to participate.\r\n\r\nBee-Bots have been especially impactful for students who don't always shine in traditional academic settings. Hands-on learners, shy students, English language learners, and students who need movement to stay focused often become leaders during these activities. Because everyone can participate successfully, students build confidence, take risks, and proudly share their thinking with others. Bee-Bots give every child a chance to feel capable, creative, and successful.","fullyFundedDate":1758146243381,"projectUrl":"project/code-creative-and-explore-with-beebots/9701171/","projectTitle":"Code, Creative, and Explore With BeeBots","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rogers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9451993_orig.jpg?crop=3683,3683,x0,y503&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1707153366074","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9451993"},{"teacherId":10087405,"projectId":9486861,"letterContent":"My students use our classroom rug every single day for things like morning meeting and reading horizons. They were so excited when they first saw it, they were all thankful they did not have to stay in their seats all day and could come closer to the board when they needed to. Magnetic tiles and building blocks have also been something my kids have been so excited about all year. We call them stem bins and it's our time to calm down and incorporate stem every morning when we come in. My kids know this is now part of their daily routine and genuinely enjoy using these toys. The glue sticks are used often and kept at each table in their table caddy's. And of course, the books Iv'e received have been nothing short of entertaining and fascinating for my students. My students love reading and the books I received have been so fun for them to read. They are always so excited when they get to go that reading corner. Copy paper was another item in this donation and I am especially thankful for this donation. Students don't necessarily notice how critical paper is for everyday and how much paper is needed throughout the school year. Iv'e incorporated the soccer ball fidget spinners into my treasure box, which students go to every Friday if they have a specific number of dojo points. \r\n\r\nThe carpet sweeper has been an absolute life saver since I got it. My carpet would not be clean without it. I am out in a trailer and students always come in and their shoes have mud/dirt on them from being outside. As soon as they step on the carpet, it gets dirty and if it wasn't for the carpet sweeper, I truly think it would have had to be thrown out by now. This would have been extremely difficult considering how expensive classroom rugs are. This carpet sweeper has helped make my life so much easier and I am so thankful. The disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer are also used by myself and my students constantly.","fullyFundedDate":1755868029652,"projectUrl":"project/new-second-grade-classroom-starting-fre/9486861/","projectTitle":"New Second Grade Classroom: Starting Fresh","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nasser","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10087405"},{"teacherId":10293006,"projectId":9770884,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support in helping us bring a brand-new mobile library cart to our elementary school. Because of you, our students now have easier, more joyful access to books wherever they are in the building — and it has already made a remarkable impact.\r\n\r\nThe mobile cart has become a daily staple in our Media Center and throughout the school. I've been able to bring curated collections directly into classrooms for supplemental checkouts, themed lessons, and quick access to books for students who need fresh reading material. Teachers love that the cart allows the library to meet students right where they are, and students are excited every time it rolls through the door.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was visiting a kindergarten classroom for a read-aloud and checkout session. Their faces lit up the moment the cart entered the room — several students immediately pointed and whispered, \"The library is here!\" After the story, they eagerly browsed the shelves, choosing books independently and proudly showing their friends their picks. Seeing our youngest learners connect so deeply with books in their own classroom was truly unforgettable.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the cart, their excitement was instant. Hands shot up, voices buzzed with curiosity, and many asked if the cart would come to their classroom next. They were amazed to see how many books they could explore without even leaving the room. Their enthusiasm has only grown since that first day!\r\n\r\nMoving forward, the mobile library cart will be visiting more classrooms more frequently as we continue integrating it into our weekly schedule. I'll be restocking the cart based on student requests and interests, making sure every visit feels fresh and tailored to their reading needs. Additionally, our Student Media Helpers will now assist with restocking, organizing, and helping the cart travel from room to room — giving them ownership, leadership experience, and pride in supporting our school community.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our school, our students, and the power of literacy. Your generosity has truly moved our library — and our learning — forward.","fullyFundedDate":1760008001309,"projectUrl":"project/rolling-into-reading-a-library-on-wheel/9770884/","projectTitle":"Rolling Into Reading: A Library on Wheels for All Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Davidson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10293006"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3233","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":833,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":52,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":8,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":72.5,"schoolId":3233,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Eastern Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Eastern Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/pitt-county-schools/eastern-elementary-school/3233"}
