The headphones are currently hanging in our classroom for easy access. There are many days where I see students go and get a pair to use for the class. This could be during \" Starbucks mode\" where students work silently while listening to music, or during a test so the question can be read aloud. \r\n Headphones are so important when taking a test because it allows the question to be read to the student. Many students struggle understanding what a math question is asking simply because they do not know how to read it, or they don't know what the question is asking. Even as adults, we find it easier to answer a question someone asks us directly rather than reading and writing our response. Our students are exactly the same! Even the small things like headphones makes a world of difference. \r\nThank you again!","fullyFundedDate":1744403088016,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-for-our-classroom/9245638/","projectTitle":"Headphones for Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nelson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9935324"},{"teacherId":2424803,"projectId":9064650,"letterContent":"Thank you for your kind gift to my classroom. Your gratitude has greatly enhanced my Dynamics and Tempo Units. The kindergarten children absolutely love the addition of the turtle, rabbit, lion, and mouse puppets in our classroom. The Tempo and Dynamics songs that we sing to introduce Italian musical terms match up with animal puppets and help to give the students a reference point for each new vocabulary word. After learning the songs that match up with each term, students complete a writing activity using the vocabulary. I noticed that with the incorporation of the puppets, the students are able to recall the Italian words with more accuracy than previous years.\r\n\r\nIn addition, my 1st graders are learning how to read quarter note and eighth note rhythms. We learned a song called \"Footsteps\". Each time we repeat the song, a new animal friend comes out to sing to them and gives them an idea of how to move to the mailbox. Then, we move around the room with the music with the animal friend. After the movement activity, we discuss each animal and the type of rhythm pattern that matches it. We speak the rhythmic pattern and put it on our bodies with body percussion. The next step is to create rhythm chains with each animal and puppet. Thank you for helping me cultivate creativity and making learning fun!","fullyFundedDate":1739550112311,"projectUrl":"project/puppets-for-musical-exploration/9064650/","projectTitle":"Puppets for Musical Exploration","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hegwer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2424803_orig.jpg?crop=2268,2268,x715,y272&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737486304882","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2424803"},{"teacherId":3817141,"projectId":8475607,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to my project; our reading rewards have been a huge success for our elementary-aged students. Earning small tokens for reading has a meaningful impact on our students because it is fostering intrinsic motivation, promoting consistent reading habits, and reinforcing a positive association with learning. These rewards serve as tangible recognition of effort, helping to build self-esteem and a sense of achievement. Over time, this may lead to improved literacy skills, greater engagement with educational content, and the development of a lifelong love for reading. When implemented thoughtfully, token-based incentives will hopefully complement broader educational goals and support a growth mindset in our younger learners.","fullyFundedDate":1728658035190,"projectUrl":"project/rewarding-our-reading-warriors/8475607/","projectTitle":"Rewarding Our Reading Warriors","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3817141_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683148123154","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3817141"},{"teacherId":9935324,"projectId":9141680,"letterContent":"Thank you again for donating the anchor charts are markers to our classroom.
