These materials provided students with different ways to practice important academic skills while also making learning more interactive and enjoyable. Instead of relying only on traditional worksheets and teacher-led instruction, students were able to learn through activities that encouraged participation, practice, and collaboration.\r\nThe multiplication cards were especially helpful for developing students' fluency with multiplication facts. Students were able to practice their facts repeatedly in a way that felt more like a game than an assignment. The cards allowed students to work at their own pace and gave them immediate opportunities to identify which multiplication facts they knew well and which ones they needed to practice more. Working with a partner also encouraged students to help one another and learn from their classmates. Over time, the repeated practice helped students become more confident and faster when solving multiplication problems. The cards also made it easier to provide additional practice for students who needed extra support.\r\n\r\nThe dice were another useful resource because they brought an element of fun and excitement into the classroom. Dice could be used in different math activities, including multiplication, addition, subtraction, and number comparisons. Students were more willing to participate because they viewed the activities as games rather than simply schoolwork. Using dice also encouraged students to think quickly, solve problems, and explain their answers. When students played together, they practiced important social skills such as taking turns, following directions, and communicating respectfully with others. This helped create a classroom environment where students were actively involved in their learning.\r\n\r\nThe reading passage book also had an important impact on my classroom. It provided students with opportunities to strengthen their reading fluency and comprehension skills. The passages exposed students to different topics and types of text, which helped build their vocabulary and background knowledge. After reading, students could answer questions, discuss what they had read, and identify important details. These activities helped students become more comfortable with reading and encouraged them to think more deeply about the information presented in a passage. The book also made it easier to monitor students' reading progress and identify areas where they needed additional support.\r\n\r\nOverall, these three resources helped create a more engaging and supportive learning environment. The multiplication cards strengthened math fact fluency, the dice made math practice more interactive, and the reading passage book supported reading comprehension and fluency. Most importantly, the materials gave students opportunities to practice skills in different ways while building confidence. They encouraged students to participate, work with others, and take a more active role in their education. As a result, the classroom became a place where learning could be both productive and enjoyable.","fullyFundedDate":1788186252047,"projectUrl":"project/3rd-grade-materials/10536845/","projectTitle":"3rd Grade Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Watkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9905622_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744583699020","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9905622"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2193","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":779,"numTeachers":42,"percentFrplEligible":36,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":62,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"18.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":70.8,"schoolId":2193,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about River Mill Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"River Mill Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/north-carolina-department-of-education/river-mill-academy/2193"}
