They fell in love with them from the first time they saw them hanging on the wall. Your donation helped me to purchase many different kinds of guitars as you can see from the pictures in the slide show. Each child has the opportunity to choose their favorite and looks forward to trying them all. These special guitars have only one string so the children are able to use the books that come with them to play many melodies immediately. They are learning the correct way to hold and play full size guitars by learning how to play these Tinkertars correctly in music class. They feel such great success when they play a melody they recognize like \"Happy Birthday\" or \"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star\". Then they enjoy making up their own melodies and jamming out on their rocking guitars with their friends!\r\n As a music teacher, it encourages me to know that this successful beginning will spark a lifetime of love for music and involvement in playing instruments in the future. It amazed me to see how quickly the students felt comfortable playing the guitars and how they focus on playing each note. They enjoy playing for one another as well and playing the melodies together. \r\n The students truly treasure these instruments and are so careful with them. They are learning how to care for instruments and feel privileged to play them every time they get a chance during our music centers. Each week we have our music lesson and then centers time at the end of each class. I'm looking forward to seeing them grow in their guitar skills as well as their music reading skills for many years to come because of your willingness to give.","fullyFundedDate":1758636620709,"projectUrl":"project/make-my-students-stars-with-tinkertars/9468553/","projectTitle":"Make My Students Stars with Tinkertars!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fletcher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5548894_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y386&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1686929884261","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5548894"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2690","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":404,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":23,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":64.1,"schoolId":2690,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bessemer City Primary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bessemer City Primary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/gaston-county-school-district/bessemer-city-primary-school/2690"}
