Specifically, this project has allowed my students more consistent, broader, and deeper access to Social-Emotional Learning curriculum. \r\n\r\nSeveral of these books are part of a series. Reading one meant my students were excited to read more, the next one, ask questions. The best part- these series' prompted my kids to refer to the examples represented from these texts in their lives when real-life situations connected to the plot events of the book. I loved hearing my students say things like, \"Remember when the smart cookie realized he didn't have to be great at everything but could be great at one thing?\" \r\n\r\nThe Food Group series was by far the most read in my classroom. And reread again and again. My students were able to see themselves in moments described in \"The Smart Cookie\" and in \"The Sour Grape\".
