Your investment has made a clear and meaningful difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWith the 3D printer and donated filament, students are now able to design and print rewards tied to participation, goal-setting, and exceeding expectations. Seeing their ideas turn into tangible products has significantly boosted motivation and engagement.\r\n\r\nWe are also preparing to begin our unit on Phineas Gage, and students have already shown excitement and curiosity about the 3D-printed skulls displayed in the room. That simple visual hook has sparked questions, discussion, and anticipation for learning before the unit has even begun.\r\n\r\nBoth my students and I are deeply grateful for your generosity and ongoing support. While the teacher and the reading interventionist are working with the students who struggle with reading or are not reading on grade level, the Scholastic Scope magazines are a delight and engaging activity for students who are on grade level to work on. We also like to use them during class time when an article specifically matches a topic we are discussing.\r\n\r\nThe students really enjoy the relevant articles and I love that the activities and worksheets, that go along with the articles, are aligned with the standards that we work on in class. This month the September issue is especially interesting to my students. Our school is about an hour and a half drive from Asheville and the NC mountains where Hurricane Helene devastated many of our friends and family members. The students had excellent conversations and personal experiences that made reading this article very relevant to their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1752172324930,"projectUrl":"project/what-is-the-scoop-with-scholastic-scope/9257644/","projectTitle":"What is the Scoop with Scholastic Scope","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Koontz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3516285_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1458395654417","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/t-koontz"},{"teacherId":9818233,"projectId":8907140,"letterContent":"The donations to our classroom have had a tremendous impact on both student engagement and learning. The vocabulary word games have been a favorite among students, sparking excitement and enthusiasm for learning new words. Through these interactive games, they have expanded their vocabulary in a fun and meaningful way, making connections that enhance their reading and writing skills. It has been rewarding to see their confidence grow as they play, reinforcing essential language skills in an enjoyable manner.\r\n\r\nThe clipboards and whiteboards have also been a valuable addition, allowing us to move beyond our desks and engage in interactive learning experiences. We have used them for question trails and gallery walks, making lessons more dynamic and collaborative. Additionally, the basic supplies, including pencils, tissues, and crayons, have supported our daily learning needs. Having these essential materials readily available ensures that all students can participate fully without worrying about missing supplies.
